Restore · Preserve · Ride

IronHead publishes straightforward restoration guides for classic motorcycles — for riders building a nice, accurate bike.

Bill Morton, founder of IronHead

Built at a bench, not a desk

IronHead is run by Bill Morton — a lifelong restorer who learned the trade the old way and still measures twice. The guides exist because the documentation didn't: forum threads go dead, shop manuals trade for $200, and publisher guides pad the page count with lifestyle filler. IronHead organizes the original factory service data into structured, model-specific guides at a fair price — the right parts, in the right order, with the right specs.

Every guide is built around a specific model and year, not a generic template with a different name on the cover. 244 are live today, and the library grows model by model.

How we work

  • Model-specific or nothing. If we can't document a bike properly, we don't sell a guide for it yet.
  • Honest pricing. $19.95 a single year, $29.95 for the all-years books, 7-day money back — stated up front on the pricing page.
  • Readers keep us accurate. Beta testers ride free for honest feedback, and reader corrections go straight into the next revision.
